About Shannon Ella Poppy

Service Notes Blossom Daycare is an Ofsted registered, home- based childcare provision, we are a mother and daughter team, consisting of myself, Ella, and my mother Emily. We offer a caring home from home environment, whilst following the curriculum of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Ethos Our ethos is founded on valuing and celebrating the diversity of each child and family that we work with. We offer a wide range of toys, activities and resources that challenge and stimulate. Equality and diversity are very important to us, and inclusivity is at the core of our care philosophy. We aim to ensure that the children we care for are able to develop positive attitudes about themselves and others. About us We have both worked with babies and young children for many rewarding years, across a variety of professional roles. I have been a Nanny for 15 years and hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care: Early Years Provision, as well as a Level 4 Diploma in Education Studies. I also have a degree in Art History. Before having my son, I worked as the Baby Room Lead and Deputy Manager at a pre-school. Emily has experience as a Nursery Assistant, Childminder, Classroom Assistant, and Foster Carer. As a mature student, she returned to education, earning a degree in Social Science followed by a PTLLS Teacher Training Qualification. Since then, she has worked with adults with disabilities and has been involved in various children, family, and community development projects. She has also completed the Level 3 PACEY Childcare Course. We worked together as childminders in Brighton for seven years before relocating to Plymouth. Our previous childcare setting, Blossom Daycare, was a thriving and well-loved provision in Brighton. We both hold enhanced DBS checks, and have completed Prevent Duty, Safeguarding, and Paediatric First Aid training. We are committed to professional development and regularly update our training to ensure best practices. We have experience caring for twins, children with disabilities, special educational needs, and those with allergies. We have also supported children and families from a wide range of religious, cultural, and parenting backgrounds. We both understand the balance between navigating the challenge of childcare with working and education, we understand how essential it is to find high-quality, dependable childcare. That’s why we strive to create a warm, engaging, and supportive environment that children love—and one that gives parents/cares complete peace of mind.
