Other Information I am a registered OFSTED childminder in Plymstock. Flexible hours including weekends and registered for overnight care. School pick ups and drop offs to Brixton St Marys primary. 8 years teaching experience and special needs experience. Although I am newly registered I have 5 children of my own between the ages of 15 and 2 so I am very experienced in the care of children, also having worked for 8 years as a child development tutor in a school for children with special educational needs and challenging behaviours. I believe that all children should have the ability to play freely and safely and am a massive advocate for outdoor learning. We spend a lot of time outside in my large, safe, enclosed garden- all year round (so wellies are a must!!). We have lots of outdoor toys to support all aspects of development, suitable for all ages. Indoors we have a safe and secure playroom with a range of toys aimed at encouraging children to learn through play, some structured games, but most of all free play. Messy and creative play are also a big part of day-to-day life in the household As well as everything we have at home, we spend lots of time going out to do different activities. We attend weekly rhyme time at a local library as well as other toddler groups as they have been massively important in development of social skills for my own children. Some other activities we do on a regular basis are; the zoo, soft play areas, swimming, visiting local parks, walking, feeding the ducks, gymnastics group and even a trampoline. My house can be chaos- but I promise it's a good chaos! Don't let the toys/paint/playdough put you off.. It's just that we don't do strict in this house, it's happy mess! Lots of fun!
