Other Information Our Early Years Unit, which include Nursery and Reception, provides a vibrant and stimulating environment where children are supported and educated by highly skilled, dedicated and caring staff. Children can attend our Nursery from the term after they turn 3 years old until they are school age. Due to the structure of our sessions, children develop quickly in the early years, and early years practitioners aim to do all they can to help children have the best possible start in life. We believe children have a right to provision which enables them to develop their personalities, talents and abilities irrespective of ethnicity, culture or religion, home language, family background, learning difficulties, disabilities or gender. We acknowledge that children learn in different ways and as such we provide a variety of teaching methods to make learning exciting, accessible and memorable for our children. We aim to develop positive attitudes to learning and children receive praise and encouragement, through our positive learning behaviour policy, at every opportunity. We appreciate that starting nursery is a big step for both you and your child. At Ford Nursery we aim to make this a happy and positive event, where your child will enjoy a caring, stimulating environment. We value a good relationship with you, the parents and carers, as we believe this plays a fundamental part in the settling-in process and indeed in the rest of your child’s time in school. We recognise that when your child comes here he/she has already learnt a lot from you at home. We want to build on what your child knows and can do, taking them further on to the next stage of learning. We strongly believe that your child’s education is a partnership between home and school and therefore parents are always welcome to come and see us through our open door policy.
