Other Information Fort View is our smallest nursery set in one of our largest gardens. Children benefit from a cosy home from home environment yet have the opportunity to explore and benefit from an extensive outdoor environment. Set in an oasis of peaceful countryside within the city, the nursery is well placed to serve families living or working nearby. Find us to the right of the historic Napoleonic fort at the top of Crownhill Fort Road. The nursery and pre-school was awarded a Good grade by Ofsted in March 2023. The inspector was particularly impressed with the setting's highly reflective management style which involves staff, parents and the children themselves helping to evaluate and make improvements. Of note, is the nursery's Children's Council scheme which allows children to air views about favourite activities and what they enjoy learning.

What is Offered

Funding available 2, 3, 4, Offers Extended Entitlement (30 hours)
Funded places are available for up to 24 hours a week to qualifying families for 47.5 weeks of the year completely free of charge including all meals, snacks and drinks across our afternoon sessions. These can be taken Monday to Friday in any combination of 4 and 5 hour sessions up to the child’s maximum entitlement (start time for all is 1pm). Families qualifying for 12 funded hours a week can likewise take these as 4 or 5 hour afternoon sessions up to the child’s maximum entitlement (start time for all is 1pm). Families on a term-time only booking profile can take their fully-free sessions as follows: • 15 hours per week: three 5 hour afternoon sessions per week • 30 hours per week: any combination of 5 and 10 hour sessions, however the 5 hour sessions must be in the afternoon Other [non-funded] sessions can be purchased without restriction as per the schedule on our price list and combined with funded sessions. If space is available, parents / carers can choose to opt out of our fully-free sessions, offer to pay a flexibility charge of £2.50 per hour and request to likewise use their funded hours for any of these sessions. These can also be used in combination with non-funded (ie paid for) sessions but please note that these sessions would not form part of our statutory offer (as detailed above) so cannot be combined or interchanged with any fully-free sessions. Meals, weaning food, snacks and drinks (other than baby milk) are provided without any additional charges.
